Coldplay has a new music video on YouTube for ‘Hurts Like Heaven‘, one of the tracks on the band’s Mylo Xyloto album. But it’s also functioning as an advert for an upcoming series of physical comics. The video starts with an actual comic being flipped, before shifting into 2D and 3D animation blended with comic-book-style speech bubbles and plot boxes. Fans can go to Coldplay’s own webstore to pre-order the six-issue Mylo Xyloto comic series for €18.99. Published by Bongo Comics, one issue a month will be published from February 2013, with the series focusing on the Mylo Xyloto character, whose place “on the front lines of a war against sound and colour in the world of Silencia” is the central conceit for Coldplay’s album and tour.
