The iPad app is due to launch this month, with iPhone and Android following later in the year, and it all ties into Pure’s wider cloud music service. The announcement came alongside an even bigger deal for Pure: its first multiroom audio system, designed to take on Sonos. It’s called the Pure Jongo and starts from £149.99, with the aim of attracting mainstream customers rather than just audiophiles – something Sonos is also trying to do with its latest systems. The new apps will act as controllers for the system.
