The PSY bandwagon’s wheels aren’t falling off just yet. The K-Pop star’s Gangnam Style video is now past 432m views on YouTube, which even though it was only released on 15 July this year, makes it the ninth most-viewed YouTube video ever, with the likes of Charlie Bit My Finger (487m), Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance (490m) and Shakira’s Waka Waka (495m) firmly in its sights. Even more startling: 327m of Gangnam Style’s views have come since the start of September, as mainstream US media caught on to the phenomenon. Note, these figures only count the official version of the video – various live versions, remixes and parodies are giving Gangnam Style an even bigger reach. For example, a separate (But still official) version with more emphasis on female singer Kim Hyun-a has notched up 83.7m views on its own.
