We recently reported on No Doubt settling their lawsuit with games publisher Activision (Bulletin, 5-Oct-12), but now another artist has fallen out with a games firm. In this case, though, the latter is suing the former. Ubisoft has slapped the Black Eyed Peas with a $1m lawsuit, claiming that an iOS game based on the band, which cost $150k to develop, has remained unreleased. “Since March 2012, and despite Ubisoft’s repeated requests, BEP Music has breached the contract by failing and refusing to either approve or disapprove the IOS game in writing or otherwise,” claims Ubisoft’s lawsuit, which is seeking damages for the development costs, and also “the profits Ubisoft has lost and will continue to lose”.
