Forrester Research has published some interesting research claiming that the average US internet user spends 19.6 hours a week using the internet – a figure that’s actually down from the 21.9 hours recorded by last year’s equivalent survey. Are people losing interest in the web? Not according to Forrester: “Despite the fact that they always have connected devices and are always online, they don’t really realise they’re online,” analyst Gina Sverdlov tells All Things Digital. “They’re using Google Maps or checking in on Facebook, but that’s not considered online because it has become such a part of everyday life.” The survey of 58,000 people found that 70% say they use social networking sites – up from 58% in 2010.
Are people spending less time online in 2012?
