Streaming music service Rara.com has launched new apps for iOS and Windows 8, while updating its existing Android app and launching in seven new countries, taking its total to 27. The UK-based startup, which spun off from B2B music firm Omnifone in 2011, charges £9.99 a month for web and mobile access, or £4.99 a month for web-only access – although new users pay £1.99 or £0.99 respectively for their first three months. Rara says it now has 18m licensed tracks available, having inked deals with a host of independent labels to add to its existing major contracts. It also has a big preload deal with Lenovo for its range of Windows 8 and Android tablets and computers, which was announced yesterday.
