Social music service Soundrop has been one of the early success stories on Spotify’s apps platform in terms of popularity: the company says 340m songs have been streamed through the app since its launch last year. Now it’s been redesigned with a new ‘front lobby’ to help people find virtual rooms to visit, as well as a ‘drawer’ to save rooms that they like for return visits in the future. The design has been spruced up throughout, and the chat feature is now “easier to access when you want it, and hides itself away when you don’t”. Facebook is also now baked in. The downside is that Soundrop has yet to transfer these changes to its mobile apps, so they’ve been removed from Apple and Google’s app stores, with new versions to debut soon.
