Sony Music has lost digital exec Michael Paull, after he was tempted away by a new role at Amazon. Paull will now be VP of content acquisition and business development at Amazon according to All Things Digital, which reports that it’s a new position at the company. Paull joined Sony Music in 2008 following jobs at Fox Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment and AOL Time Warner. At Sony, his role included managing relationships with the likes of Apple, Amazon, Google, Vevo and Spotify. There’s no news yet on who’ll be replacing him at the label group. The move could be seen as a coup for Amazon, which has been rebuilding its bridges with rightsholders following the licence-free launch of its original cloud locker service.
