Streaming music service Rhapsody has revamped its Android app with what it’s calling a “new concierge feature” called Replay, which suggests music based on a user’s listening history at that time and day. “They listen to different music throughout the day — what they listen to on their motivating morning drive or run is not what they listen to while making dinner or relaxing in the evening,” says Rhapsody’s Paul Springer in a statement. “So, we built that intelligence into the app—which gets smarter the more you listen.” Hang on, though. Concierge? Music played to suit specific times of the day and/or activities? If this all sounds a bit familiar, you may be remembering music playlists app Songza, whose main feature – “Concierge” – is based around playing users “the right music at the right time” (Bulletin, 6-Mar-12).
