Microsoft has only just released its first own-brand tablet, the Surface, but there is already speculation about another that will carry its Xbox brand. The Verge cites multiple (unnamed) sources claiming that Microsoft is working on a 7-inch gaming-focused Xbox tablet, likely to be released ahead of the next model of the company’s Xbox console. “Messaging and other tablet functions may be supported, but the focus is on gaming,” explains The Verge‘s Tom Warren, who is well-regarded for his contacts within Microsoft. It would seem sensible to assume that the new Xbox Music service will also be part of any such tablet, following on from its inclusion in both the current Xbox 360 console and the Surface tablet.
