Clear Channel has reported its latest growth stats for iHeartRadio, whose app has now been downloaded more than 135m times, with 20m people registering with the service to use its Custom Station personal radio features. That’s in 13 months since iHeartRadio was relaunched with the Pandora-esque elements, with Clear Channel proudly boasting that its growth rate is “faster than all other popular entertainment platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Spotify and Instagram”. We see what they did there. Clear Channel is also continuing to pitch the strength of its blend of traditional radio stations and custom ones: “The reach of our broadcast radio properties, combined with our digital platforms truly creates unmatched promotional power that is unique to Clear Channel,” as president of digital Brian Lakamp puts it.
