Rdio has been winning plaudits for its website’s design for a while, but the streaming music service has now given its mobile apps a similarly-elegant revamp, promising users that the iOS and Android apps are now “faster, sleeker, and easier to use”. That includes the stripped-down design elements of the website, a new side-navigation panel, infinitely-scrolling charts and new releases, and a clever remote control feature. “The app will notify you if ‘Rdio is playing elsewhere.’ Pause, skip, or play a station from wherever you are, or click ‘Play Here Instead’ and your mobile device will pick up right where your laptop left off,” as they put it. Early indications are that this second-screen aspect is getting particularly praised by Rdio users.
