Last night’s Record of the Day awards in London saw a second gong in a row for Music Allyer Eamonn Forde, as he won Business Writer of the Year. This follows his win in the same category last year. “A writer is only as good and as interesting as what they write about. And the music industry in 2012 has the richest pickings imaginable. So this really is about the music business at the most exciting point in its history ever,” Eamonn tells us. “Please note I am a roaring idiot normally. I dedicate this award to everyone in the music business. Except Bono.  In 2013 we must be tough on Bono and tough on the cause of Bono.” Yes, we did get the quote fairly late in the evening. Congratulations to Eamonn, though: we’re chuffed on his behalf.
