Indie duo She & Him (also known as M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel) released festive album ‘A Very She & Him Christmas’ last year through Merge Records. Just in time for this Christmas, it’s getting a promotional iPhone and iPad app: A Very She & Him Christmas: Yule Log. If you’re thinking that means a virtual crackling log fire on-screen while you listen to the album, you’d be right. It also supports Apple’s AirPlay for big-screen toastiness. “The app includes ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ as a free track. Purchase and listen to the record in its entirety through the app,” explains its App Store listing. “Any songs purchased within the app will be automatically added to the your iTunes library as well.” A neat idea, and free.
