We don’t normally write about Live Wallpaper apps for Android, because 99.8% of the music-related mobile screensavers on the Google Play store are entirely unlicensed. That’s not the case with PSY Gangnam Style LWP and Tone: it’s an official product. “The live wallpaper contains the legendary elevator scene from the music video. Tap on your screen and the elevator doors open to reveal the famous dance performed above PSY’s head,” explains its app listing. A licensed Gangnam Style ringtone is also thrown in, while the wallpaper pulls in tweets and gig dates from the Korean star. The app is being sold for £1.49, although it’s yet to break 5,000 sales. Also interesting is its developer: music startup Bandsintown. The Gangnam Style live wallpaper joins its Bandsintown Concerts and Virtual Zippo Lighter apps on Android.
