Microsoft may be pushing its own Xbox Music, but that isn’t stopping other streaming services from targeting the company’s Xbox 360 console. Rhapsody is the latest, launching its subscription-based app on the device yesterday. The new app was designed in-house at Rhapsody, and makes full use of Xbox 360’s features, such as voice commands for its Kinect controller. The app requires a Rhapsody premium subscription, as well as a membership of Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold service. Here’s a festive quote from VP of business development Brian McGarvey: “People talk about social music as something that happens online, but there’s no better place to share music than with family and friends at home, especially this time of year.”
