The Echo Nest has added another music-related service to its Rosetta Stone project, which links a host of different music databases for developers to play with. WhoSampled is the latest addition: “We’re talking about the largest, most detailed, and most accurate database of sample-based music, cover songs, and remixes in the world,” notes The Echo Nest’s blog post. That means ingesting a database of more than 160k tracks and 60k artists. “With Rosetta Stone, a developer can now easily build apps that link any artist or track to WhoSampled, which would then display all of their related samples, covers and remixes…” WhoSampled joins the likes of 7digital, Deezer, Facebook, Musicbrainz, Rdio, Seatwave,Songkick, Spotify and Twitter as part of the project.
