Earlier this year, IK Multimedia launched AmpliTube Slash, an iOS guitar effects processor and recording studio based on Slash’s amps and pedals. Now it’s made a follow-up based on Jimi Hendrix.
“Want to rock Hendrix’s Rig? Now you can with the new AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix app,” explains its App Store listing.
“AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix lets you build a flexible guitar signal chain complete with 3 stompbox effects and an amplifier head with cabinet, plus a single-track recorder (expandable to 4 tracks) for capturing your musical ideas quickly and easily.”
Users of the app can import Jimi Hendrix songs from their music library to play along with, and there are links to Apple’s iTunes Store to buy tracks that aren’t owned already.
IK Multimedia says it will soon be adding the Jimi Hendrix amps and effects to its main AmpliTube app as in-app purchases, too.
AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix costs $14.99 / £10.49 for iPhone, and the separate iPad version costs the same price.
