Scandinavian streaming music service WiMP is more like Rhapsody than Spotify, in that it’s always been about paid subscriptions, rather than a freemium model. Now it’s trying the latter in Sweden, working with newspaper Aftonbladet. People will get free access to WiMP’s 18m-strong catalogue, although it sounds like some features will remain premium, like mobile.
