Music apps developer Smule has had hits with apps like Glee Karaoke, I Am T-Pain, Magic Piano and Sing! Karaoke. Now its latest app aims to marry music with videos shot on iOS devices. “Turn your life into a music video,” encourages the App Store listing for this free app. Think Instagram, except with videos instead of photos, and filters that are musical rather than visual. “Advanced audio filters automatically compose music to match your video. With over 20 different visual and audio styles, from simple background melodies to outrageous remixes, you will create a unique experience every time…” Individual filters like Punk, Ecstasy, Riff and Xmas Joy can be bought in-app for $2.99 each, with others available for free. There would seem to be scope for licensed filters from artists at some point too, although seemingly not at launch.
