Digital music firm 7digital has released some end-of-year stats, including the fact that mobile now accounts for 67% of tracks sold through its stores – up from 50% a year ago. The company also says that its track-to-album sales ratio is now 3:8, which it compares flatteringly to the industry average of 6:7. Meanwhile, 7digital’s Android app has now been installed on 4.3m devices, with 1m of those coming in the fourth quarter of 2012, despite the high-profile launch of Google’s own Google Play music store on Android. Not that 7digital is tying itself to the downloads mast going forward: “The increase in mobile and variety of access options is a big opportunity for us, especially with the launch of our new streaming services in the coming year and presence on a wide range of connected device platforms,” says CEO Ben Drury.
