Innovative sheet-music app Chromatik is set for a “big” funding round early in 2013 according to Silicon Valley blog PandoDaily, which suggests VC firms including Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Union Square Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz are all keen to invest in the company, following a previous $2m round. The Chromatik iPad app is trying to shake up the way musicians use sheet-music: enabling them to read it, but also record what they’re playing and make notes, with everything stored in the cloud. The company was one of our startups to watch from 2012 in our end-of-year report.
