Two more mobile apps built using APIs from Spotify and Deezer went live over the Christmas period. Fliptape describes itself as “a Spotify-powered music player for iPhone built by a team of four developers, which helps people listen to what friends are playing in real-time, while also following featured artists. DeezCovr is available for iPhone and Android smartphones, promising a “daily dose of good music”. That means an Echo Nest-powered music discovery app that lets users save the songs they like to a dedicated Deezer playlist. It’s the slickest third-party app for Deezer we’ve seen so far. Talking of The Echo Nest, it revealed in an end-of-year blog post that it now reaches more than 100m music fans a month through its various partners and apps.
