Universal Music Group has been busily shuffling its global executives following its acquisition of EMI’s recorded music business. Following Max Hole’s promotion to international chairman and CEO, now the label group has promoted Pascal Nègre – currently president of Universal Music France, Italy, Middle East and Africa – to a role as global head of new business, reporting directly to label boss Lucian Grainge. Nègre will be overseeing strategic partnerships, brand tie-ups and working with colleagues to “capitalise on appropriate new digital and terrestrial opportunities and business models”.
