People who discover and connect to apps through Facebook spend more time in the apps, come back more often and are more likely to become paying customers, according to the social network. They would say that, you might argue. But they have backed up their findings with stats from several apps, including Ludia’s Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader game, which sees 70% of its revenue generated by Facebook users, despite the fact that only 52% of total users connect via the site. “We can assume that lifetime value of a Facebook-connected install is at least double the value of guest connected players over time,” said Ludia’s vice president of marketing François Daoud. Meanwhile, people who log into Wooga’s Diamond Dash via Facebook are apparently nine times more likely to spend money than other users. The stats remind us of comments made by Spotify last year about Facebook-connected users being three times more likely to convert into paying subscribers on its service.
