Rdio launched a freemium element to its streaming service in the US last year, but now that free tier is coming to Europe. Well, some European countries – the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden – with Australia, Canada and New Zealand also getting it. Germany, notably, is not. Users will be able to get up to six months of free streams on Rdio with a metered system restricting the time they can listen. Meanwhile, rival Deezer continues its global expansion, launching in 22 new countries this week including Brazil, South Korea, and other African, Asian and Middle Eastern markets. The company now claims to be available in 182 countries.
