Google has announced some new features for its AdWords advertising system: ‘enhanced campaigns’. We think they’re pretty significant. The topline: “A first step to help you more simply and smartly manage your ad campaigns in today’s multi-device world.” It’s about making ads smarter and more responsive depending what device they’re being seen on and what its owner is currently doing. “Enhanced campaigns help you reach people with the right ads, based on their context like location, time of day and device type, across all devices without having to set up and manage several separate campaigns,” explains Google in a blog post. And while the post cites pizza outlets and retailers as examples, enhanced campaigns could be a boon for music-related advertising too, as they roll out over the first half of this year.
