Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds is getting ready to launch his new album ‘For Now I Am Winter’, with a nifty promotion going live on his website yesterday. Launched by Decca, it’s a mixer/visualiser for Arnalds’ song ‘Only The Winds’ that lets fans turn individual stems on and off at will, along with their accompanying animations. We’ve been enjoying the piano’n’strings mix this morning while writing this story. “The purpose of this application is to give the listeners an opportunity to really look inside the song and explore what a big arrangement like that is really made of,” says Arnalds. Decca is also planning to work with Indaba Music on a remixing contest based on the same track, with the best entries to be made available as a streaming EP.
