Last year, 14% of online adults in Western Europe owned a tablet, according to industry analyst Forrester. However, the company expects this to grow to 55% by 2017 – meaning growth from 33m tablets in people’s hands in 2012 to 147m in 2017. This is based on a survey of 13k consumers in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Other interesting stats: 63% of tablet owners share the device with their spouse or partner, while a third share it with their children.
