Smart TVs were one of the product categories recently cited by the BPI as a future driver for digital music growth, with 17% of owners already streaming music on their connected tellies. With that in mind, here’s some new research from IHS Screen Digest claiming that 66m smart TVs shipped in 2012, accounting for 25% of all TV sets shipped that year. However, the analyst thinks this will grow to 141m shipments in 2015, when smart TVs will be 55% of all sets.
