Bastille are the latest band hoping to drum up anticipation among fans for their album with a pre-release stream on their own website. The Virgin-signed act is holding an “album streaming event” for ‘Bad Blood’ based around a cinema metaphor, with regular “screenings” to which fans can book tickets. They’ll then be sent an email with the link and a reminder of the time they’ve booked, and can invite friends. Fans are also being encouraged to live-tweet the stream and write their own 140-character reviews with star ratings, which will then be pulled in to display on a movie-style poster. Oh, and then they’ll all be bundled into a “commemorative YouTube video” serving as the credits sequence.
