Jamiroquai’s debut album ‘Emergency On Planet Earth’ is 20 years old? We feel ancient. Perhaps getting jiggy with our remixing skills will restore our youth. The band has launched a contest for fans to remix one of that album’s tracks, ‘Too Young to Die’, through partnerships with Loopmasters, Ableton, Live-Courses and SoundOnSound. Singer Jay Kay will choose the winner, whose remix will be made available on the band’s website, while they’ll get prizes worth more than £2k. SoundCloud is part of this too: the three remixes that get the most favourites on that site will win runners-up prizes. The contest is promoting Sony Music’s reissues of Jamiroquai’s first three albums this month.
