Last night, social news app Flipboard launched its version 2.0, with the key feature being the ability for anyone to create their own digital magazine within it.
We reported on the details earlier today, but we’re also getting our hands dirty testing out the new features. We’ve whipped up a Music Ally digital music news magazine, which Flipboard users can subscribe to, comment on and flip stories into their own collections.
The magazine (flipzine?) will be a mixture of Music Ally’s free articles from this blog; posts from elsewhere that we think are interesting; tweets from the great and good of the digital music industry; and the odd marvellous YouTube video or SoundCloud track.
Oh, and the Music Ally podcast too, which you’ll be able to listen to while browsing the rest of the magazine thanks to Flipboard’s nifty SoundCloud integration.
For now, it’s only available within Flipboard’s iOS app, although Android will be getting the new features in a month or so. To check Music Ally’s flipzine out (and hopefully subscribe to it) click on this link.
(Yes, there’ll be more pictures soon. We’re fiddling with our RSS settings…)
