Linkin Park

When we wrote about the launch of the Flipboard app’s new magazines feature last week, we suggested it might be of use to a few music artists. Linkin Park has become one of the first to test it out, launching what appears to be an official Linkin Park flipzine. It’s pulling in photos from Facebook, videos from YouTube and news stories from around the web relating to the band. Flipboard is promoting the zine in the Music category in its app, and so far more than 1,500 fans have read it. Tiny, in comparison to the band’s social media followings elsewhere – 1.7m on Twitter and 51.1m Facebook Likes – but the ease with which flipzines can be created, drawing on content from those other social networks, makes it something worth experimenting with. Also being promoted on Flipboard is a zine from Rolling Stone dedicated to The Beatles, which has just over 7,800 readers.
