D2F platform Bandcamp has redesigned with a renewed emphasis on music discovery on its landing page. The new Bandcamp Weekly show is a central part of this, released every Tuesday in which host Andrew Jervis will play his pick of the best music on the site (new and old). This comes after big changes at the start of the year where it turned heavy users into super-recommenders, letting them share the music they are discovering and buying on the site to provide a curation role for others. Community is clearly a key part of Bandcamp and how it fosters and deepens that relationship with both the artists it promoters and the users it attracts is something that other digital services could take many tips from.
