Live music service Bandsintown has been sharing its latest stats, telling tech blog PandoDaily that it now has 5m unique users. CEO Julien Mitelberg claims that makes it bigger than rivals Songkick and SuperGlued – something we suspect may draw a response from Songkick, which was claiming 5m uniques back in March 2012 when it raised its last round of funding. Still, Bandsintown says it now has more than 100k artists using its tools to keep their touring schedules updated. The company is planning to add more social features, add tools for users to track their concert history, and add other “concert-related content” to its mobile apps. And revenues? The strategy appears to be developing paid tools for promoters and brands to use, rather than counting on affiliate payments from ticket sales.
