
Music-cataloguing project the Global Repertoire Database (GRD) now has a home. Well, two homes really: its global HQ will be based in London, while its operations centre will be located in Berlin. The London office will open later this year as the GRD project ramps up its plans to create the most accurate catalogue yet of global music rights. “Availability of suitably skilled staff, accessibility for global industry participants, and strength of legal protection for intellectual property were important criteria and of course the global nature and requirements of the GRD is a key consideration,” says the ICMP’s Andrew Jenkins of the location decisions.
