Having taken the world by storm with his Gangnam Style and Gentleman videos, Korean star Psy is now hoping to make a similar impact on the iPad app charts.

His label/agency YG Entertainment is releasing an iPad app called PSY File, which went live briefly on the App Store last night before being removed – presumably ahead of an official release.

AppShopper still has its listing, which describes “the first release of Psy’s official app” and promises history, songs, videos, “messages from celebrities about Psy” and feeds from his official social networking profiles.

According to the listing, the app will cost $1.99, making it a new revenue stream for Psy rather than pure promotion. That’s if it remains a paid product when it officially comes out.

We await its official release with interest, while also wondering whether YG is working on an Android version of the app.
