For Kickstarter crowdfunding campaigns that don’t quite work, the usual cycle is launch, realise your pitch and/or rewards aren’t appealing, panic. Now Kickstarter has a new feature that it hopes will avoid some of these problems: Project Preview. It’s a way to share a project with friends before it launches through a preview link, with a dedicated section for them to leave feedback about what they think. “They are able to see exactly what the project will look like when it goes live. They can watch your video, check out your rewards, read your description and then leave feedback directly on the page,” explains Kickstarter’s blog post. “This can be anything from helping you brainstorm new rewards, to advising you to add photos of rewards to the project description, or even, dare we say, catching a typo in your project title!” The feedback notes can be seen by anyone previewing the project, although they disappear when it actually launches. The feature could also be good for Kickstarter creators looking to drum up media interest before they launch.
