If you’re a digital marketer grumbling about the limitations of Facebook’s Page Insights tool, this may be your lucky day. The social network is rolling out a number of new features for its analytics, inviting Page moderators to test them in advance of an open-for-all release later in the summer. “In recent months, we’ve been gathering feedback about our Page Insights tool. What we heard is that we need to make Page Insights more actionable. It should be clearer to businesses how to use this information to drive the results they care about,” explains Facebook’s blog post announcing the plans. The People Talking About This metric will now be broken down into different interactions: Likes, engagements, Page tags and mentions, checkins etc. Clicks on updates will now be included in the Virality metric, which is being renamed as ‘Engagement Rate’. Data on posts’ performance, reach and engagement will now be shown together in a new “post-specific score card” within Page Insights to help people see more easily which posts are doing well and why. And marketers will be able to see more detailed demographics on fans who’ve engaged with their posts, rather than simply seen them. If you’re a Page moderator, watch for an invite to the test delivered through the Page Insights tool
