According to Ad agency MDG the top 1,000 YouTube channels are making an average of $23k each in monthly ad revenues. Clearly, those at the top are making a lot more than that: MDG claims that Psy’s ‘Gangman Style’ video alone made $870k in ad revenues from its billion-plus YouTube views in 2012, although that figure is likely to pale alongside the Korean rapper’s income from brand partnerships and music sales.Tthe top 1,000 YouTube channels collectively generate 55m ratings, 25m comments and 7.5m favourites every month.
