Google has rolled its recently-launched streaming music service out beyond the US. Google Play Music All Access went live in Australia and New Zealand last night, with a tweet from the official Google Play Twitter account inviting people there to “grab your headphones” for a free trial of the service. As in the US, they can get 30 days of free listening before deciding whether to pay $9.99 a month for the service – a limited offer in itself, as from August the monthly subscription price will jump to $11.99 (this is in local currency). For now, All Access is available online and on Android devices, although Google has reiterated that “at some stage we will make it available on other platforms including iOS”. All Access joins an increasingly-crowded streaming music market in Australia, with Spotify, Deezer, Rdio, Sony Music Unlimited, Xbox Music, Mog and local service Songl all scrapping for customers, along with Pandora on the personal radio side.
