A growing number of musicians are posting videos on Instagram, but Bruno Mars has become one of the biggest yet to solicit and showcase videos from his fans through the photo-sharing app. Label Atlantic Records has launched Treasure Dance, a website that calls for fans to shoot videos of themselves (or more likely their friends) dancing and hashtag them #TreasureDance. They’re then digitally inserted into the video for Mars’ ‘Treasure Dance’ single, complete with a link to their Instagram web profiles. A quick search in Instagram yields 622 posts so far using the hashtag, and a fair few dance moves that are new to us. Anyway, it’s a canny campaign, with the site built for Atlantic by digital agency OKFocus.
