The social network has at least tested a new feature that could boost the reach in another (non-paid) way.  Inside Facebook  reports that some Facebook users have been seeing a pop-up when they Like a page inviting them to click a ‘Get Notifications’ button if they want to make sure they don’t miss future updates from that Page. That would ensure they get a message-style notification every time the Page posts. However, Facebook has confirmed the test has now finished, without saying whether the feature will now be implemented permanently. “It was a test to help people stay up to date with Pages they’re interested in. We’re no longer testing it,” a spokesperson tells the site. In separate Facebook news, it’s worth checking out Simply Measured‘s latest report on Facebook marketing: it analyses activity from the world’s top 100 brands, with some useful lessons for music Pages.
