Twitter still hasn’t launched an Android version of its Twitter #Music app, but the company continues to add new features to the iPhone version of the music discovery app. Version 1.2 went live on Friday, with one key feature the ability to scan users’ iPhone music libraries to get a better idea of their tastes. That’s good: previously, the app was over-reliant on which artists they’d followed on Twitter as a source of recommendations. There are also new ways to find music through the app: “Listen to artist’s top tracks, similar artists, and the artists that your favorite artist follows on Twitter,” explains the App Store listing. Twitter has also localised the app for a swathe of European countries in an effort to broaden its appeal: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. And how well is the app doing? User numbers remain elusive, although for new downloads it’s only the 97th most popular music iPhone app in the US, which isn’t a good sign.
