goldfrapp

The latest artist to explore the world of Instagram-style photo-sharing apps is Goldfrapp. The band have launched GoldfrApp – Tales Of Us, an iPhone app that encourages fans to “combine photos to create beautiful, unexpected and sometimes surreal images”. The idea being they take two photos for a double-exposure effect, or shake their smartphone to randomly choose a pair of pics from their photo library. The results can then be shared on Twitter and Facebook, but also with the band themselves – Alison Goldfrapp will apparently be choosing her favourites to appear on the band’s website, while also posting her own photos. Yes, there’s a hashtag: #GoldfrAppAug12, although activity is a bit quiet at the time of writing, two days after its launch. Charging 69p for it may be one reason: sensible as an attempt to cover the development costs, but possibly restricting the app’s distribution to keen Goldfrapp fans only.
