Rajar latest figures, reveal that 91% of the UK population listen to radio every week. That’s 48.3m adults – 1.5m more than this time last year. On average, those people are listening to 21.3 hours of radio a week, with digital platforms now accounting for 36.8% of that listening compared to 31.5% a year ago. 27.9m people in the UK now tune in to radio digitally, with DAB radios accounting for 65% of all digital hours, online listening 16% and digital TVs 15%. Radio listening from mobile devices continues to grow, with 24% of adults telling Rajar that they have ever listened from their mobile phone – a figure that rises to 43% for 15-24 year-olds.
