
Hypebot has run an interesting piece on the latest developments here and how companies like Line and WeChat are making a direct play into music with their offerings. Digital stickers (something Snoop Lion is well versed in) are one option, but WeChat’s adding of song recognition and downloads (in China initially) suggests something much bigger is happening here. Biggest of all potentially is Japanese service Line creating the Line Mall “new shopping experience” and teasing of Line Music as “included in Line’s basic functions” rather than a standalone app.
