65% of all smartphones sold in the three months to the end of July in nine key markets were running Android, according to the latest stats from Kantar WorldPanel ComTech. That’s ahead of iPhone’s 26.3% share in the countries – UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, USA, Australia, China and Mexico – although as TechCrunch points out, there’s plenty of variance in Apple’s share, from 6% in Spain to 43% in the US. Microsoft’s Windows Phone is growing notably EU5, accounting for 8.2% of sales in the 12-week period.
