It’s not just Lady Gaga looking to deliver her new album through a mobile app. Dutch singer Caro Emerald’s latest album just got its own iPhone app too: The Shocking Miss Emerald.

Released by her label Grandmono Records, it offers a stream of the album, and adds lyrics, liner notes and images. The app costs £1.49, and the streaming is unlimited, with Grandmono promising that it will “use the app as a platform to upload more unique tracks in the near future”, with an exclusive version of Emerald’s ‘Excuse My French’ already available within it.

“We at Grandmono firmly believe in the future of digital music. But we also believe an album is much more than a few tracks in your playlist, plus a tiny cover image,” explains the label in the App Store listing.

“That’s why we’ve developed this album app. Now you can enjoy our music on your mobile device, without missing out on the artwork, pictures, lyrics and stories that bring the music even more to live. All the benefits of digital music, plus the fun of a real record…”
